TERMS OF USE
The rules, responsibilities, and conditions for using our website, member portals, programs, and services.
By accessing or using the Adopt A Cop BJJ (AACBJJ) website, programs,
and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use.
Welcome to the website of Adopt A Cop BJJ (“AACBJJ”), a program operated by North Hills First Responders Corporation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
By accessing or using this website, creating a member account, submitting an application, making a donation, purchasing merchandise, registering for an event, or participating in any AACBJJ online service, you agree to these Terms of Use.
If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the website or its services.
1. PURPOSE OF THIS WEBSITE
The AACBJJ website is intended to provide information about our mission, programs, affiliate academies, fundraising efforts, events, merchandise, partnerships, and other nonprofit activities.
The website may also provide access to private member areas for approved officers, Peer-to-Peer participants, affiliate academies, staff, and other authorized users.
Information provided on this website is for general informational and organizational purposes and should not be considered legal, medical, financial, tactical, or professional advice.
2. ELIGIBILITY AND PROGRAM PARTICIPATION
Access to the AACBJJ website does not guarantee acceptance into any AACBJJ program.
Officer sponsorships, Peer-to-Peer participation, affiliate academy status, partnerships, reimbursements, and other program benefits may be subject to separate eligibility requirements, applications, agreements, policies, funding availability, and approval by AACBJJ.
AACBJJ reserves the right to approve, deny, suspend, or terminate participation in its programs in accordance with applicable program policies and agreements.
Submission of an application does not create a contractual right to sponsorship, reimbursement, placement, funding, or other benefits.
3. MEMBER ACCOUNTS AND PORTALS
Certain areas of the website may require a member account.
Users are responsible for:
-
Providing accurate and current information
-
Maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials
-
Restricting unauthorized access to their account
-
Promptly notifying AACBJJ of suspected unauthorized use
Member accounts and portal access are intended only for the individual or organization to whom access was granted.
AACBJJ may restrict, suspend, or terminate access to any member portal when necessary to protect the organization, its members, its programs, or the security of the website.
Different member roles may have access to different resources, documents, forms, and information.
4. OFFICER AND PEER-TO-PEER PROGRAMS
Participation in AACBJJ officer programs may require compliance with additional policies, agreements, attendance requirements, reporting requirements, fundraising expectations, academy rules, and other program standards.
Peer-to-Peer fundraising participants must represent AACBJJ honestly and professionally and may not make unauthorized promises or representations on behalf of AACBJJ.
Funds raised through AACBJJ-sponsored campaigns are charitable funds administered by AACBJJ and do not become the personal property of the individual fundraiser.
Participation in a Peer-to-Peer campaign does not create employment, ownership, partnership, or agency status with AACBJJ.
Specific program terms provided to participants will control if they conflict with general information appearing elsewhere on the website.
5. AFFILIATE ACADEMIES
AACBJJ works with independently owned and operated Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academies.
Unless specifically stated otherwise in a written agreement, affiliate academies are independent organizations and are not employees, agents, subsidiaries, or representatives of AACBJJ.
AACBJJ does not control the daily operations, instruction, staffing, safety procedures, scheduling, facilities, or business practices of independently operated affiliate academies.
Designation as an AACBJJ affiliate does not constitute a guarantee or endorsement of every service, instructor, practice, or activity offered by that academy.
Participants are responsible for evaluating whether a particular academy and training environment are appropriate for them.
6. BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU AND TRAINING ACTIVITIES
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, grappling, martial arts, physical fitness, and related training involve inherent risks of injury.
Nothing on this website should be interpreted as a guarantee that participation in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu will prevent injury, prevent the use of force, guarantee a particular law-enforcement outcome, or eliminate risks associated with physical encounters.
AACBJJ provides access and financial assistance for training opportunities but does not guarantee individual performance or outcomes.
Participation in physical training may also be subject to separate waivers, releases, agreements, academy policies, and safety requirements.
7. DONATIONS
Donations made in support of AACBJJ help advance the organization's charitable mission and programs.
AACBJJ currently utilizes third-party fundraising and payment platforms, which may include services such as Zeffy, Donorbox, Stripe, and PayPal.
Transactions processed through third-party providers are also subject to the terms, privacy policies, and conditions of those providers.
Unless otherwise specifically restricted and accepted by AACBJJ, donations may be used where they are most needed to support the organization's charitable mission, programs, operations, and related expenses.
AACBJJ cannot guarantee that every donation will be allocated to a specific individual officer unless the applicable campaign or agreement expressly provides otherwise.
Tax deductibility may depend on applicable law and the circumstances of the contribution. Donors should consult their own tax professional regarding individual tax matters.
8. MERCHANDISE AND ONLINE STORE
AACBJJ may sell merchandise through its website.
Product availability, pricing, shipping, returns, exchanges, and other purchase conditions may be governed by additional store policies displayed at the time of purchase.
AACBJJ reserves the right to correct pricing errors, modify product availability, cancel orders when appropriate, and update merchandise offerings without notice.
Purchasing AACBJJ merchandise does not create membership in or eligibility for any AACBJJ program.
9. EVENTS
AACBJJ may promote or organize seminars, tournaments, fundraisers, training events, community events, and other activities.
Event participation may require separate registration, payment, waivers, eligibility requirements, or rules.
AACBJJ reserves the right to modify, postpone, relocate, or cancel events when reasonably necessary.
Event-specific terms will control where they differ from these general Terms of Use.
10. WEBSITE CONTENT AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Unless otherwise stated, the AACBJJ name, logos, graphics, photographs, written content, program materials, downloadable resources, designs, videos, documents, and other website materials are owned by or licensed to AACBJJ or North Hills First Responders Corporation.
These materials may not be copied, reproduced, modified, distributed, sold, published, or used commercially without prior written permission.
Approved affiliate academies, officers, sponsors, and partners may receive limited permission to use certain AACBJJ branding materials in accordance with applicable brand guidelines.
